Leyton Orient’s Robbie Weir revealed his pride in being named O’s captain for the 2016-17 season.

The midfielder, who arrived in E10 this summer from Burton Albion, was handed the armband by manager Andy Hessenthaler earlier today (Friday) having captained the side on several occasions throughout pre-season.

Weir, 27, described being given the role as an honour, and is set to make his first appearance at the Matchroom Stadium when the O’s host fellow London side Charlton Athletic this weekend.
