Orient face League One side Gillingham in their final home pre-season encounter ahead of the new League Two campaign.
An Orient XI featuring Sam Sargeant, Charlie Grainger, Alan Dunne, Josh Doherty and Paul McCallum picked up a 3-3 draw against Royston Town last night in another good workout for the team, while the Gills head into today’s encounter after a 2-1 success at Dartford on Tuesday night.
The Gills fell behind in the encounter with the Darts, but goals from Emmanuel Osadebe and Joe Quigley saw Justin Edinburgh’s side pick up the win.
There will be a few familiar faces likely to feature for the Kent outfit this afternoon with both goalkeeper Stuart Nelson and midfielder Josh Wright having spells in E10, while O’s boss Andy Hessenthaler needs no introduction having both played for and managed the Priestfield outfit.
The last time these two sides met at the Matchroom Stadium, they produced a six-goal thriller as Orient came from behind to secure a share of the spoils in a 3-3 draw and Wright was on hand to net the 85th-minute equaliser
Tickets are available on the gate, priced at £10 adults, £5. Programmes, priced at £2 will also be available from around the ground, and includes interviews with manager Andy Hessenthaler against his former side and new O’s captain Robbie Weir, while Nicky Hunt and summer signing Callum Kennedy give their thoughts ahead of the new campaign.
