Theo, the O’s mascot, was busy throughout the summer, popping into the Score centre and appearing at local school fetes but one of his favourite visits was the Summer Fayre at our charity partner Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green.
Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House, said: “Leyton Orient have been strong supporters of the hospice for many years and it was great to see Theo at our Summer Fayre.
“We really value the club’s time and commitment to life-limited children and their families in our local area.
“We are also delighted that Leyton Orient will once again be supporting our Pumpkin Plod.”
Along with O’s midfielder Dean Cox, Theo is a regular visitor to the hospice and both will pop along again in October to help promote another of the super fundraising events that run throughout the year, namely the Pumpkin Plod! The event is a sponsored walk for the whole family – 2k or 5k through the forest.
The warm-up starts at 2pm on Sunday, October 23 with face painting, hot drinks, Halloween sweets and other refreshments on sale. The walk will begin at 3pm where you can search for trick or treats in our gunge tanks along the way and return to the hospice for a night time Halloween BBQ.
Every participant receives an exciting pumpkin-themed goody bag on arrival and a medal and pumpkin on completion of the walk.
