Leyton Orient are pleased to confirm the signing of Slovenian under-21 midfielder Zan Benedicic on a deal until January 2017, subject to international clearance.
The 20-year-old has completed a free transfer having left Italian Serie B side Ascoli Picchio, and will link up with the O’s on an initial short term deal.
Benedicic made the move to Italy as a youngster, coming through the AC Milan youth academy and had a loan move to England with Leeds United at the start of the 2014-15 season.
Known for his set pieces and long distance shooting ability, the midfielder has played at every youth level from under-17 to under-21 for Slovenia.
Benedicic linked up with Serie B club Como following his time with Milan, before joining Ascoli in January 2016, playing on nine occasions.
During his time in E10, Benedicic will wear the number 33 shirt.
An interview with the new signing will be available on leytonorient.com shortly.
