Leyton Orient are delighted to announce that Steven Alzate and Josh Koroma have signed their first professional contracts with the club.
The exciting duo have been rewarded for their fine form for the youth team over the past year, and have both put pen-to-paper on initial two-year deals, with the club having the option to extend them by a third.
Attacking midfielder Alzate first joined the O’s at under-13s level, and was recently involved with the first team for the first time as an unused substitute in the 3-1 Checkatrade Trophy victory at home to Stevenage at the end of August.
The midfielder, who can operate on either wing or down the centre, has been in fantastic form for the under-18s so far this season contributing with no less than four goals and a handful of assists for Richard Thomas’ side.
Koroma, who is comfortable playing either on the wing or as a striker, made his first team breakthrough towards the end of last season and has featured in the O’s matchday squad on a number of occasions this campaign.
The 17-year-old’s first team debut came back in April as a substitute away to Barnet, before he made two further substitute appearances in victories against Mansfield Town and Yeovil Town. Koroma has since added one further appearance to his name this season, coming on as a substitute in the Checkatrade Trophy win over Stevenage.
