Manager Alberto Cavasin admitted the O’s have to address their worrying home form following the 2-1 defeat to Blackpool at the Matchroom Stadium.

Paul McCallum’s 89th minute header was not enough for Orient to salvage anything from the game, having conceded in either half to efforts from Jamille Matt and Tom Aldred.

“First and foremost, we have to find a solution,” Cavasin told

“We have picked up too many defeats at home and to date it is a problem we have not managed to solve, though we are doing everything we can to solve this.”

Having claimed a 3-0 victory at Colchester United last Saturday, Cavasin revealed his disappointment on not being able to build on the result though felt his side continued battling until the end despite their efforts being too little, too late with McCallum’s late header.

“Of course we wanted to build on last weekend’s win against Colchester and although we kept fighting until the end, we ultimately conceded two goals from two episodes which proved costly.

“We didn’t manage to make the most of our opportunities and this is part of the problem we have encountered when at home. We will not stand here talking about bad luck but in some games you do need a bit of fortune,” he explained.

“As the match approached the final stages it became easier for the opposition to defend and hold on to their lead before we managed to pull one back with a great header from Paul. After the goal we didn’t have too much time to create any further chances however and therefore were unable to force an equaliser.”

With the defeat to Blackpool ranking as the O’s eighth home loss of the season, Cavasin and his side turn their focus immediately to Exeter City who on Tuesday give Orient the chance to claim a first home victory in eight league attempts.

“Tuesday allows us to go again straight away and look to make amends on the pitch for today’s loss. “With the match being four days away it is the perfect opportunity for us to rectify our home performances of this season,” added Cavasin.

“We have another chance to achieve a good result here at home and it is evident that we need to find the solutions to pick up positive results and win games here.”
