The club are pleased to confirm striker Sam Dalby is the next in a long line of academy players to sign his first professional contract.
The first year scholar has signed a three-year professional contract having impressed greatly in the O’s under-18 squad this season, netting 11 goals in their 19-game unbeaten run.
Dalby has already featured for the first team and his substitute appearance against Stevenage in the Checkatrade Trophy saw him become the sixth youngest ever player to represent the senior side when aged 16 years and 226 days.
The club are committed to providing a first-team platform for its youngsters to thrive and Dalby follows hot on the heels of six other academy products netting their first professional contracts.
In addition to Dalby – Josh Koroma, Steven Alzate, Tristan Abrahams, Myles Judd and Henry Ochieng have also signed pro deals with the club, while the likes of Aron Pollock, Sam Sargeant, Freddy Moncur and Sandro Semedo have also graduated through the club’s academy.
