Orient manager Andy Edwards admitted it was an anxious finale but was ultimately pleased to pick up a 3-2 home win over Crawley Town on Boxing Day.
A first senior goal for Sam Dalby on his first senior start, and a double for Paul McCallum saw the O’s lead 3-0 at the break.
However, a second half turnaround saw Teddy Mezague slot into his own net and Enzio Boldewijn’s strike set up an nervy ending for the O’s.
Orient came out on top and Edwards was pleased with his side’s character and resilience to see out the game, despite a disappointing second half showing.
The 45-year-old believed the first half performance was the best of the season for the O’s and he was delighted to secure back-to-back home wins for the first time since August 2015.
