Orient defender Myles Judd is eager for the O’s to continue their home improvement with three points against Barnet tomorrow.
The 17-year-old was disappointed to start the New Year with a defeat at Exeter, but feels the O’s can be buoyed by the recent results at the Matchroom Stadium going into their first home fixture of 2017.
“It was a very disappointing result at Exeter and we were all frustrated to start the New Year in such fashion, but hopefully we can bounce back from that defeat and keep up the recent good run at home,” he told leytonorient.com.
“It has been better at home recently so we need to keep that going for as long as possible. The home form has improved and hopefully that can carry on.”
Judd has come up against the Bees youngsters in the pass and knowing a few who have also made the jump up to first team, is expecting a tough test.
“They have signed a few new players ahead of the game so that will make it tougher, and they also have a few youth team players who are involved,” added Judd.
“I have played against them at youth level and they have always been tough opposition. They are in the top half of the table, but I know we are capable of coming away with all three points.”
Since signing professional terms, Judd has featured in the last seven first team games and while pleased with his own personal development, he hopes to play a part in helping the O’s move clear of the relegation zone.
“I am feeling settled now in the first-team environment and all the senior boys have been great in making me feel welcome.
“It has been tough and it is certainly a faster pace and more physical than Academy football, but I feel I am progressing with every game I play and hopefully that can continue.”
Judd has progressed through the ranks with the O’s and is pleased to be re-united with his youth team coaches Andy Edwards and Danny Webb in the senior environment.
“I have really enjoyed working with Andy and Danny in the first team. Danny has been my coach for the last four years and Andy has always been around as well so it has helped me settle in nice and quickly,” he remarked.
