Orient manager Danny Webb admitted it’s a bitter pill to swallow conceding late on in a 3-2 home defeat to Notts County, but feels he can once again be proud of his side’s effort.
The O’s battled back from 2-0 down thanks to goals from skipper for the day Paul McCallum and defender Teddy Mezague, but saw hopes of a point dashed by Jon Stead’s second of the game.
Webb’s initial feeling of the late winner as being ‘sickening’, but admits the players and fans gave 100 per cent throughout the contest.
Orient lost Tom Parkes to injury early on, with the early prognosis suggesting a pelvis injury, and the 33-year-old felt it is just a sign of the O’s luck of late.
However, Webb believes more performances like that will enable the O’s to get out of the bottom two.
