Leyton Orient mega-fan Suzanne Randlesome has been attending O’s games for 20 years. In fact, she has attended EVERY O’s game, home and away, during that time!
Her parents, Dave and Brenda, are also both lifelong Orient fans have been taking Suzanne since she was a toddler and her consecutive sequence started with the home game against Barnet on March 1, 1997.
Of the over 1000 games that entails, dad Dave has only missed two of them and mum Brenda has missed just a small handful. But Suzanne has seen every minute of every game as they always arrive at matches early and always stay until the end.
Her favourite players over the years include Matt Lockwood, Steven Dawson, Justin Miller, Jabo Ibhere, Charlie Daniels and more recently Moses Odubajo and Dean Cox, with her favourite game being the promotion winning rollercoaster match at Oxford away in 2006.
Not missing a game for 20 years is some achievement to put it mildly and her friends and football family at the Leyton Orient Supporters’ Club couldn’t let the milestone go unnoticed and Suzanne was presented with a commemorative glass trophy by club captain Robbie Weir in the Supporters’ Club prior to the home game with Wycombe Wanderers.
Suzanne said, “As you no doubt could tell from the expression on my face, I was completely surprised when at the last home game Keren [Harrison, Supporters Liaison Officer] called me up to be presented with an award for attending every O’s game over the past 20 years. I thought it was to present a Player of the Month award!
“There have been a few highs, but mostly lows, during that period; the most memorable highs being promotion in 2006, the Wembley Play-Off Final appearances in 1999 and 2014, the Millennium Stadium Play-Off Final in 2001 and the FA Cup run in 2010-11 finally ending at the Emirates Stadium.
“My two favourite games were the final game of the 2005-06 season at Oxford United and the second leg of the Play-Off Semi-Final against Peterborough United in 2014.
“It’s so lovely to receive this award from the wonderful supports club and lovely too to meet Robbie [Weir].”
Keren commented, “It was a pleasure to welcome Robbie Weir to the Leyton Orient Supporters Club bar to make a presentation to Suzanne on her 20 years of consecutive support to Leyton Orient without missing a game! What an achievement. We thank Suzanne for her continued and unwavering support and thank Robbie for taking time to pop in and present the award”.
LOFC would also like to congratulate Suzanne on her fantastic achievement and look forward to seeing her receive a similar award in twenty years time! Up the O’s!
