Steve Davis’ side return to E10 for the first time this summer, and arrive in good form having secured a 2-1 pre-season victory at Billericay Town last Saturday.

Macauley Bonne opened the scoring with his fourth goal of pre-season with a seventh minute header, and full-back Jake Caprice doubled the O’s advantage with a fine individual goal midway through the first half.

Billericay pulled a goal back before the break through midfielder Sam Deering, though the O’s managed to hold onto their advantage and came away from the AGP Arena with the victory.

Arsenal U23s arrive at the Matchroom Stadium on the back of a 4-0 win at Boreham Wood last Thursday, and Under-23 Coach Steve Gatting is expected to utilise a similar squad tonight.

First team players Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debuchy, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Chuba Akpom all featured at Meadow Lane, with the latter opening the scoring from the penalty spot on the 10th minute.

Further goals from Jon Toral and Stephy Mavididi ensured a three-goal advantage at the break, before Mavididi registered his second of the evening on the 47th minute.

The Gunners U23 side get their Premier League Two Division One campaign underway on Friday, August 12 when they travel to Reading.

Head Coach Steve Davis handed several first team members 90-minute run outs at Billericay Town at the weekend, but could utilise more of the squad this evening as he gets one final look at the players ahead of Saturday’s opening day trip to Sutton United.

First Team Captain Charlie Lee missed out at the weekend due to a slight injury and is a doubt for tonight.
