Macklin will be responsible for all administrative and commercial activities at the Club, and will work alongside Director of Football Martin Ling.
With over seven years’ experience working as Commercial Director at Essex County Cricket Club, Macklin has spent the past two years at Southend United where he originally joined as Commercial Director.
Macklin is expected to formally join the Club mid-November, and until then Board member Marshall Taylor will continue to act as Interim Chief Executive.
Speaking on the appointment, Club Chairman Nigel Travis said; “Danny impressed us consistently throughout his interviews and we believe his sports experience will add considerably to our capabilities at Leyton Orient.
“As we stabilize the Club, growing our matchday and non-matchday revenue is critical to our future. Danny has proven capabilities in this area and will also be able to modernize many aspects of the Club including systems, digital and stadium infrastructure.”
Danny Macklin added; “I am very much looking forward to taking up the role of Chief Executive Officer at Leyton Orient Football Club. We have a unique opportunity to continue galvanizing the Club with the fans at the forefront of plans.
“With over 10 years of sport administration, commercial and marketing experience, I pride myself on providing an ever-enjoyable matchday experience whilst driving income and profitability as well as providing support and strategy development to the board.
“Having spent some time with the new owners and directors of Leyton Orient, the vision and objectives are not only realistic but in equal measure exceptionally exciting.”
