The older person sessions have been taking place regularly for over 8 years since being introduced by the Football Foundation and players have popped in throughout that period to join in with the game, a Paralympic sport in its own right!

“I’ve never played it before but really enjoyed it”, said Sam. “The people here are really nice and made us feel really welcome. It’s nice to get out into the community. No problem at all”.

Sam and Charlie follow in the footsteps of past O’s such as Ben Chorley, Alex Revell, Sammy Moore and Callum Kennedy and insisted they make the tea when offered a cuppa on arrival!

“I make the tea at home”, said Charlie smiling, “so I’m used to it! It’s good to be here and I’ve really enjoyed playing a new game. It’s not as easy as it looks!”

The young goalkeepers played on opposite teams with Sam victorious on this occasion. When asked for his reaction, he commented: “Never any doubt!”
