access_time 4 years ago

A tribute will be displayed to commemorate his achievements both on the battlefield and the football field.

Born in 1885 in Sunderland, the central defender made his league debut in a 2-0 win over Oldham Athletics on December 12th, 1908.

A total of 213 appearances were made by Scott during his time at Orient, where the defender scored 34 goals, his consistent ability was outlined when he was picked to represent a London XI v Paris XI in France.

Scott then joined up with two other Orient players, William Jonas and Richard McFadden in the 17th Battalion Middlesex Regiment, but sadly lost his life on August 16th, after being wounded and held prisoner.

O’s fans are invited to attend and should arrive before 5pm. Striker Sam Dalby will be in attendance, alongside Community Liaison Officer Howard Gould and Head of Commercial Steve Dixson.
