Brief History

Chesterfield F.C was established in 1866 and turned professional in 1891 before changing its name to Chesterfield Town.

The current Chesterfield F.C. formed on April 24th 1919 and were originally called Chesterfield Municipal, before settling on Chesterfield F.C in December 1920.

Last Meeting

Orient travelled to the Proact Stadium for a League One fixture on February 14th 2015 and came away with a 3-2 victory. Jay O’Shea put the hosts in front before David Mooney equalised to level the scores at the break. Elliot Omozusi’s own goal restored the Spireites advantage on 54 minutes, only for Mooney to equalise for a second time before Dean Cox netted a last-minute winner.




Martin Allen was appointed Chesterfield manager on May 15th 2018. Previously, he led Barnet to the Conference title during the 2014/15 season and won the League Two title with Gillingham two years prior to that.

One to watch

Shwan Jalal, once an Orient loanee was included in the National Legaue’s Team of the year 2017/18 for his title winning performances for champions Macclesfield. The shot stopper played 41 games for The Silkmen last season and signed a two-year-deal with the Spitfires after leaving the Cheshire club.



The Proact Stadium is an all-seated stadium with a capacity of 10,000 which opened in July 2010, costing £13 million.
