Brief History

Wrexham were founded in 1864 and are the third oldest football club in the world.

Did you know?

They were founded just one year after the Laws of the Game were written, and the first meeting of the Football Association.

Last Meeting

Orient welcomed Wrexham to The Breyer Group Stadium on April 21st where Macauley Bonne’s header on the half hour mark was enough to secure a vital three points for the O’s.

Manager

Prior to the beginning of the 2018/19 campaign, ex-professional Sam Ricketts was announced as Wrexham’s new manager. After a 16-year career which included over 550 domestic matches and 52 Wales caps, Ricketts was forced to retire with a knee injury in November 2016. Consequently, he began to obtain his coaching badges while improving his skills at Coventry City and Wolves before being hired by the Red Dragons in May.

Ground

The Racecourse Ground was built in 1807 and currently holds a capacity of 10,771. The Kop Terrace, the only non-seated section, is the oldest part of the ground and once held up to 9,500 people.
