Orient will begin the season with a trip to face Luton Town Ladies on Sunday, August 19th at Stockwood Park Athletics Stadium.
A week later, the O’s welcome Cambridge United Women to Mile End Stadium for their first home match of the season on Sunday, August 26th.
This summer, the FA announced a re-structuring of the women’s football pyramid with Orient’s division, formerly known as the FA Women’s Premier League, becoming the ‘FA Women’s National League.’
Chris Brayford’s side will face two new opponents during the course of this campaign with Crawley Wasps and Billericay Town earning promotion to the National League.
Last season, Orient enjoyed a successful fourth place finish on their Premier League debut taking 39 points from 22 games.
With the 2018-19 season just three weeks away, captain Danielle Griffiths outlined the team’s ambitions and praised the support they receive:
“After a strong first season in the FA Women’s Premier League, we have every reason to be confident about the upcoming season in the re-named FA Women’s National League. Our aim this season is to win promotion to the WNL Southern Division and ultimately the league championship. We know what is required to be successful at this level, with consistency being key, and will be working hard through pre-season to set us in good stead.
It is fantastic to go into another season with the support of Orient as a club as well as its superb fan base. Here’s to a successful season for both the men and women’s teams on and off the pitch!”
