A deflected Jobi McAnuff effort, followed by Matt Harrold and Josh Koroma goals wrapped up the points for the O’s.

Edinburgh named an unchanged starting XI from the one that came back from Gateshead with a point on Saturday afternoon. The only change came on the bench where Alex Lawless took the place of the suspended James Alabi.

Orient got us underway with Craig Clay in the centre circle, but it was Dover with the first attack on goal when a corner kick caused a scramble inside the area before Macauley Bonne was on defensive duties to clear.

Orient’s first chance came after six minutes when Jobi McAnuff’s free-kick was headed-goal-wards by Charlie Lee but comfortably saved by Mitch Walker.

Josh Koroma saw a shot fly inches over the bar after he shook off Kevin Lokko to find space for himself 25-yards from goal.

Flowing attacking football from the O’s saw James Dayton pick out Jobi McAnuff inside the box, but the skippers shot after taking a touch rolled just wide of the post.

Orient were immediately on the attack again, when a wonderfully timed cross-field ball by Charlie Lee found Myles Judd’s run. The defender’s header back across the face of goal almost caught Walker out.

Ten minutes remained of the first half when Koroma’s lay off found Lee, whose first-time effort was parried clear by Walker in the visiting net.

Lee was involved moments later, and this time appeared in defence to make an excellently timed challenge to thwart a very quick Dover counter attack.

On the stroke of half-time, a deep Orient free-kick from Dean Brill found Marvin Ekpiteta inside the box whose head found Koroma unmarked at the back post but somehow Mitch Walker made the wonderful save to deny the O’s a goal.

Both sides returned unchanged after the break and it was Dover who got the game going again, after a quick forward attack Daniel’s shot from inside the box was forced behind for a corner by Josh Coulson.

After superb work by Bonne to keep the ball from going out for a goal-kick, Koroma watched his deflected effort ping off the bar and out for a corner.

The resulting set piece was played short to McAnuff by Dayton, who continued his run as a decoy as the skipper worked his way in to the box and fired a deflected shot passed Walker in the Dover net to give the O’s the lead.

Orient had the wind in their sails when Dayton’s switch saw Bonne head it down for Lee to hit but the midfielder’s sliced shot flew wide of the target.

This time a quick free-kick found Dayton’s run in to the box whose cross was cleared up in to the air before Koroma volleyed the ball across goal but it just missed the boot of the sliding Coulson four yards from goal.

Despite Orient being in-charge, Dover reminded the hosts of their attacking threat when Lokko headed inches wide from Brundle’s corner.

On 70 minutes, Clay made way for Gorman who was immediately involved when his drilled cross missed Bonne’s boot by inches in the centre of the net.

Nine minutes later, Koroma held the ball up and turned his marker with ease before he curled his shot just over the near post, almost catching Walker out again.

This time, Koroma was on target to put the O’s two ahead when Dayton threaded the ball through to the forward to slot passed Walker.

Excellent counter play from the O’s as Gorman’s through ball found the run of Matt Harrold, the forward took a touch and fired towards goal but Walker gathered calmly.

Orient sealed the win when newly introduced Harrold smashed home a header from Myles Judd’s cross in extra time.
