Orient go into the match sitting fourth in South East Division One with six points from 12 available after two wins and two defeats so far this season.
In their most recent outing, the O’s welcomed in-form Billericay Town Ladies to Mile End Stadium on Wednesday night.
Two goals from Zoe Rushen and one from Georgia Box cancelled out Lisa Fulgence’s opener to secure a 1-3 victory for the visitors.
However, Chris Brayford’s side maintain a 100% away record this season from which they should take confidence going into this weekend’s encounter.
They overcame Luton Town and Stevenage Ladies in the league and recorded a 1-5 victory over Swindon Town Ladies in the FA Women’s National League Cup Determining Round.
As for Denham, they come into the match sitting tenth in the division having taken four points from a possible 12 after one win, one draw and two defeats.
On Wednesday, Denham fell to a 0-5 defeat at home to Actonians Ladies with Alessandra Barreca and Hannah Summers scoring twice while Carla Williams also got on the scoresheet.
The hosts have collected their four points away from home, with a 1-2 victory at Cambridge United Women on 9th September and a 2-2 draw at Norwich City on 26th August.
For Orient, striker Lisa Fulgence is proving to be a vital part of their attack this season. She has five goals to her name with three in the league and two in the FA Women’s National League Cup. Fulgence netted a brace against Stevenage last Sunday and found the net once more against Billericay in midweek. She will be looking to score for the third game in a row and improve this impressive personal tally.
Meanwhile, Denham’s Annie Hewitt started each of her side’s first four matches of the season in league and cup. She opened the scoring in their 2-2 draw against Norwich City and will be hoping to help her team secure their first points on home turf this weekend.
A Look at the Stats:
Last season, the O’s took six points from as many available against Denham United in the league.
On 5th November, first half goals from Sophie Le Marchand and Belen Ripoll Douton saw Orient come away from The Den with a 0-2 victory.
In the reverse fixture on 7th January, the O’s secured a narrow 2-1 win courtesy of goals from Le Marchand and Rebecca Hirst.
The teams also met in the Capital Cup on 19th November at Mile End Stadium. Le Marchand bagged a brace alongside goals from Ripoll Douton and Hayley Barton as the O’s progressed with a 4-1 victory.
Ahead of the game, defender Hannah Porter reflected on the O’s midweek defeat and acknowledged an opportunity for redemption this Sunday:
“The result against Billericay was disappointing but I felt we played well as a team, especially in the first half and created some good chances, hitting the post going 2-0 up could have changed the game. They have some good players and I’m sure when we play them next it will be a good battle again. We have the chance to put it right on Sunday, I think everyone is determined to put in a good performance to get the result.”
