MATCH PREVIEW: Maidstone United (A)

access_time 3 years ago

Justin Edinburgh’s men come in to the fixture in good form having tasted defeat only once in the opening 16 games, earning a draw against Hartlepool United last week.

The O’s went down to 10-men after Joe Widdowson was sent off early in the second half but that didn’t stop the home side from dominating the remaining minutes, although they couldn’t break the deadlock.

Harry Wheeler’s side have been in a transitional period of sorts, sitting in 20th position having made five signings in the past month.

The Stones lost to AFC Fylde on Saturday, Neil Byrne opening the scoring in 68th minute while Arlen Birch wrapped the game up in the 89th minute.

The two sides last met in the league in August, the O’s claiming a well-earned 2-1 win with goals by Josh Koroma and Marvin Ekpiteta.

The O’s will have a fairly full squad to choose from, Joe Widdowson will definitely miss out through suspension while Levi Lumeka is ineligible for tomorrow’s tie.

Will Finnie will be in charge of tomorrow’s game. He is fresh off refereeing Boreham Wood v Harrogate Town a fortnight ago where he gave four yellow cards. He has given two red cards this campaign, one for Massey of Maidenhead United against Dagenham & Redbridge while Clark received a sending off for Ebbsfleet United v Havant & Waterlooville.
