Male and female participants would embark on a first class education at Heathcote School in Chingford whilst participating within a professional football club environment.
The two-year programme will see students study for a BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport – the equivalent of 3 A-levels – whilst also gaining qualifications to work in the sports industry, including the FA Level 1 qualification in football.
Possible pathways from the programme could include scholarships in the United States, progression into the Leyton Orient Under-18 squad or routes into local professional and semi-professional clubs. There will also be links with local organisations in the sports industry, which could provide future job opportunities.
Youngsters interested in the new football and education programme, which would start in September 2019 are invited to register interest by emailing Lewis Spencer on [email protected].
