Following his January move to the O’s Turley slotted in to the centre of defence and started the month of February with a clean sheet and the goal which sent his side through to the Quarter Final stage of the FA Trophy. Turley continued to look solid in defence and helped earn a point away at Hartlepool United where he made several blocks and challenges to deny the hosts taking all three points.
Dean Brill’s February stated with a clean sheet against Blyth Spartans in the FA Trophy when he made a wonderful last minute save to keep us in the competition. Brill’s good form continued in the North East when he dived the right way to deny Liam Noble from the penalty spot, earning a point for The O’s.
Our shot stopper was alert between the sticks to stop Brackley Town stretching their lead in the cup, two memorable saves helped send us through to the Semi-Final stage.
Another excellent month for our midfielder who appeared in three February fixtures. Clay played a pivotal part in our draw at Hartlepool, contributed to the build-up of our goal and kept the energy in the centre of the park. Our tireless number 8 was also involved in the build-up to Matt Harrold’s goal which sparked the FA Trophy come-back at Brackley Town last Saturday.
It’s a second consecutive nomination for Dan Happe who yet again proved his class at the heart of the defence for the O’s, but also popped up with the winning goal in our FA Trophy Quarter Final tie last weekend, which was his first goal for the Club.
