Kent delivered the assembly to 240 pupils at Fullwood Primary School, and 40 pupils at Apex Primary School. The pupils aged between 7 and 11 years old, listened to Kent’s talk about resilience, persistence and working hard to achieve a goal. He encouraged pupils to re-frame their thinking; ‘If you can’t do something, you can’t do it “yet”.  Kent also spoke about his background, life growing up in Texas and his life today as Vice Chairman and Principal Investor of Leyton Orient Football Club.

Afterwards the pupils had the opportunity to ask questions that ranged from his favourite footballer, to advice he would give to someone thinking of setting up their own business.

The pupils at Fullwood Primary School said:

  • ‘Mr Teague was inspiring’
  • ‘He encouraged me to never give up’
  • ‘He has taught me a life lesson!, he had a very positive attitude’
  • I know that if there is something you want to achieve, sounds silly, but if you are committed and determined you could do it’
  • ‘Even if it takes me a long time I won’t give up trying’

Fullwood Primary School, Associate Headteacher, Simon Ward said:

“It was a pleasure to have such an inspirational speaker in school for our children. His message was an important one about the power of resilience and determination to achieve your goals. Our children were definitely inspired to follow their dreams”
