The Club is disappointed that two members of the first-team will be unable to be included in the match-day squad for tomorrow’s FA Trophy Final with AFC Fylde.

Leyton Orient entered discussions with The FA and AFC Fylde over three weeks ago regarding each team being able to name seven substitutes for The FA Trophy Final. The Club was told that if an agreement could be made with AFC Fylde that a vote would be made on the matter. The agreement was made with our counterparts at AFC Fylde but the sub-committee vote rejected the proposal.

The Club was left unsatisfied with this response and permission was only granted on this matter today (Saturday, 18 May) and as AFC Fylde had already departed, they were unable to agree to the terms.

The Club is therefore left disappointed that two members of the O’s squad will be unable to feature on the bench and potentially miss out on minutes in a once-in-a-career opportunity at a Wembley Cup final.
