The 34-year-old joined the O’s on July 11, 2017, following a spell with Yeovil Town and quickly became a popular member of the playing staff. He made his debut in the opening day trip to Sutton United and made 27 appearances across the 2017/18 season.
The Welshman found his role become more bit-part in the 2018/19 campaign but his versatility and team spirit shone through as he spent several weeks filling the role of right-back in the absence of Sam Ling, Myles Judd and Jamie Turley.
His professionalism and work ethic has been lauded by his fellow teammates and the Management staff and it was often joked that he secretly did laps around the training pitch as his running statistics were so impressive.
Head Coach Justin Edinburgh told leytonorient.com, “It is without exaggeration to say that the decisions of Alex and Charlie have been one of the hardest in my career. Alex’s professionalism has been instrumental in the Club’s success this season. I wish him all the best in his career going forward”
