Bishops Stortford was the destination for our latest pre-season friendly. After a three goal Orient first-half the home side made the come-back to level the scored and end the game evenly.

The first chance of the game fell to former O Jamie Cureton, he picked the ball up on the edge of the box and aimed at goal, luckily his effort was wide of the target.

It was the O’s who stuck first however, a well worked corner-kick was wonderfully dispatched by forward Lee Angol for his first of the evening.

The O’s stretched their lead just five minutes later, Angol was through on goal but was clipped just as he let fire. The referee awarded a penalty which was coolly slotted beyond ‘keeper Fred Bubidge by Jordan Maguire-Drew.

Angol was denied by a goal-line black after 27 minutes, but found the back of the net just a minute later.

Conor Wilkinson unselfishly squared the ball for his strike partner, who took two smart touches before shooting for his second of the evening.

Seconds after the restart, the hosts pulled one back. Luck Callander volleyed home from inside the box following a deep cross from the left.

The Blues were on target again after 61 minutes, Jamie Cureton this time found the net after he poked the ball home from close range, following a Stortford corner-kick.

Bishop’s Stortford drew level after 72 minutes, Aaron Greene’s deflected free-kick bounced just under Arthur Janata and in.

Moments later, Dale Gorman’s lofted through ball dropped nicely for Maguire-Drew but his first-time shot was palmed away from danger by Bubridge.

Despite further attempts from both sides, the game ended level as the O’s remain undefeated this pre-season.
