Orient finalised their pre-season preparations at the Breyer Group Stadium this weekend following a 2-1 win over a Norwich City XI.
Lee Angol and Josh Wright both found the target in the second half as the O’s came from behind to claim a final pre-season victory.
Both teams lay a wreath in the centre circle prior to a minute’s applause in memory of the late Justin Edinburgh.
The first chance came after 2 just minutes, Jordan Maguire-Drew was alert to pounce upon a mistake by Archie Mair, but his lifted effort from 7-yards was palmed wide by the recovering ‘keeper.
Norwich’s first chance came after a quarter of an hour, Diallang Jaiysemi got beyond the defensive line and hit a powerful effort towards goal. The crossbar came to the rescue as the ball rebounded to safety.
Jaiysemi was sure to make his next effort count, he hit a low effort towards goal from 2-5 yards out and the ball creeped in off the post for the opener.
Orient made one change at the break, James Brophy replaced Jordan Maguire-Drew in a like-for-like swap.
10 minutes after the restart, Lee Angol and Conor Wilkinson linked up in the box. The former won the ball back well, and crossed for the latter however his header dropped just wide of the net.
The O’s pulled level shortly after the hour mark, Sam Ling sent his marker the wrong way and crossed perfectly for Angol to volley home at the back post.
Josh Wright got the winner for the O’s five minutes from time, he picked the ball up in midfield and fired it in to the bottom corner from range.
