Midfielder Josh Wright has been named the DeVines Player of the Month for September, having secured 40% of the vote from O’s supporters on Twitter.
The 29-year-old rejoined the O’s in the summer and has had a fine start to life back in E10, currently leading the O’s goalscoring chart with four goals. All his goals have come at The Breyer Group Stadium this season, with no other League Two player scoring more at their home ground this season so far.
Wright secured the win following a particularly impressive performance against Port Vale at the weekend, scoring two goals including a 93rd minute equaliser. He celebrated the goal by running to Interim Head Coach, Ross Embleton, who later praised the midfielder for his work rate and professionalism.
Danny Webb highlighted Wright in the build-up to the Port Vale match, stating “People like Jobi [McAnuff] and Josh Wright – it breeds how they prepare, how they act, how they converse, they’re just proper people.” in an interview on The O’s Show.
