Last time out the O’s rescued a point in the dying moments as an entertaining game with Port Vale finished 3-3 in E10. Conor Wilkinson curled home a spectacular effort, with Josh Wright scoring the game’s first and last goal with his head, earning a place in the EFL team of the week.
The Cobblers’ last outing finished in a 2-2 draw away to Morecambe, with Jordan Turnbull’s brace not enough to secure a Northampton win, as 40-year-old Kevin Ellison equalised in stoppage time for the hosts.
Keith Curle’s side sit 13th in the League table, having finished 15th last campaign. With 15 points on the board, an away win this weekend would take the O’s within two points of the hosts.
TEAM NEWS
James Dayton could push to make a return to the squad this weekend, with Ross Embleton admitting he was close to being included in last week’s squad. After the draw with Port Vale, the Interim Head Coach told leytonorient.com:
‘’I was very close to including him in the squad today, but I think it would have been irresponsible of me. With another week of training, another opportunity for him to build; hopefully have a clear good run of intense work and hopefully that will see him closer to the group.’’
Jobi McAnuff remains a doubt, but continues to make substantial progress as he recovers from a groin injury.
Lee Angol and Jamie Turley remain side-lined with hamstring injuries.
