LOWFC Preview: Crystal Palace Development (H)

Orient take on Crystal Palace’s Development side on Wednesday in the first round of the CCFL Cup. The O’s will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season last week with a good performance in this one.

Last Time Out

Orient’s game against Portsmouth was postponed this weekend, due to the adverse weather conditions. This gave the first team a rare weekend off, however the development side were in action on Sunday.

Goals from Georgia Raby, Natasha Crick, Gemma Howes and Valeria Moreno secured a 4-1 win over Sutton United at Hackney Marshes. That victory saw the devs leapfrog Hackney WFC to go top of Greater London WFL.

View on the Opposition

Crystal Palace Devs currently sit third in the Reserve South Division of theWNL, having gained a draw and a win from their opening two games.

The Eagles have also played two cup fixtures already this season, gaining eye-catching victories in both. A 5-2 demolition of Gillingham Development set up a tie with Charlton U21’s, who Palace duly dispatched 6-0 at the Charles Darwin Sports Centre on Sunday.

The match takes place this Wednesday 16th October at the Mile End Stadium, E3 4HL. The ground is situated just a short walk from either Mile End or Limehouse Station and kick off is scheduled for 7:45pm.
