Last Time Out
Following a disappointing weekend that saw them crash out of the WNL Cup, Orient responded in the best possible fashion in mid-week, racking up an incredible 14-0 win away at Burgess Hill Town in the Isthmian Cup.
The O’s are the current holders of the trophy and they certainly showed why on Wednesday night. Four of the goals came from Otesha Charles, whilst both Sophie Le Marchand and Egle Trezzi bagged a hat-trick, and Hayley Barton, Cheryl Anderson, Ellie Stenning and Lisa Holmback all got one each in the resounding victory.
The R’s currently operate in the London and South East Regional Football League – a division below Orient in the league pyramid – however, they’ve made a flying start to this season winning all seven of their games played.
They have also picked up some huge wins, particularly in this competition, where they have notched up 28 goals in their three games so far, including a 9-1 win at home to Oakwood in the previous round.
Striker, Chloe Sampson has 10 goals to her name already in this competition and she’ll be someone the O’s will have to be wary of on Sunday.
Despite playing in differing divisions, the two sides have already met twice so far this calendar year, with Orient coming out on top on both occasions.
Back in February the sides met in the semi-final of the Capital Cup, where after a 1-1 draw the O’s managed to progress to the final via a penalty shootout.
However, the last meeting between the two was rather more convincing, with Orient running out 4-0 winners in a pre-season game back in August. Goals from Breon Grant, Hayley Barton and a double from Chanel Richards secured victory for the O’s in that one.
Coming to the Game?
The match takes place this Sunday 27th October at QPR’s Training Ground in Harlington, UB3 5EH, with kick-off scheduled for 2pm.
