DEAN BRILL POST-MATCH: "A game of two halves."

Dean Brill thought the 1-1 draw with Carlisle United was “a game of two halves.”

“It was a game of two halves. First half I thought we were very good, we implemented a lot of the stuff we’ve been working on and second half we fell off it, didn’t start great, got punished and never really got going again. But after the week we’ve had with travelling, I suppose we’re happy to take a point in the end.”

Carl Fletcher’s first home game in charge saw the O’s play some very good football in the first half.

“The Gaffer has come in and has got a clear way of coaching and expressing to us how he wants us to play. It was nice that we could implement a lot of that in the first half.”

“Obviously there’s still bits we can look to improve on with a full week ahead of us and we can take the positives out of the first half and the second half obviously needs to be better.”

Brill wasn’t surprised that Carlisle improved in the second half.

“They’re not going to come out for the second half the same team as the first. They will have gone in reassessed and they weren’t going to let us be as good as we were in the first half.”

“The goal comes quite early in the second half, so I’m not sure that can be put down to fatigue. As the game wore on it was then harder to find the reserves and the energy to push us back on.”
