The O’s are back in action today, as they take on Morecambe, who sit bottom of the League Two table.

The Gaffer has praised the squad’s hard work in training ahead of this afternoon’s game.

“It has been good. It was good to get out working on the pitch. We tried to get as much as we can into the players. It has been a good week – we’ve worked hard and we’re looking forward to the trip to Morecambe.”

Having picked up his first point as Head Coach last Saturday at home to Carlisle United, Fletcher is keen to see his side progress.

“We’re looking for progression. Anytime we’re together, training or playing we’re looking to get better and better. We’re looking forward to the trip, it is a long journey, but we’re eager to get the game played and hopefully put in a good performance.”

On Morecambe:

“They’re a good team, they’ve been in the division for a long time.  They’ve just lost their manager who has moved on to Fylde. He has done a fantastic job for about eight seasons.

It will be tough game for us, any kind of trip up North you know it’s going to be difficult. We know we have to get our basics right and get things where we need to. It’s important that we focus on what we’ve been working on, what we need to do and the certain principles that we want in our game when we play. Hopefully we can put that into effect.”

The game is set for a 3pm kick-off at the Globe Arena.

“We’re looking forward to it, we want to go up there and perform well, get a good result and hopefully we can do that.”
