The Breyer Group Stadium played host to 60 children from St Joseph’s Junior School, Leyton, for an anti-bullying workshop and a Q&A session with O’s player, Josh Coulson. The event took place on Wednesday 13 November 2019, during Anti-Bullying Week.

The team from Leyton Orient Trust, together with teachers from St Joseph’s Junior School, led workshops to help the students understand what bullying is, the impact it can have, and what to do if they experience bullying – either themselves or are witnesses to it. Afterwards the group was divided in to teams and challenged to design poster for anti-bullying campaign.

To end the day O’s player, Josh Coulson, joined the students for a Q&A session. Students asked questions about his experiences of bullying, his childhood, and his career as a footballer at Leyton Orient.

Pupil, St Joseph’s Junior School, said: “I enjoyed it. We learnt about bullying – if someone is bullying you then tell somebody you trust, like a teacher, straight away – you shouldn’t just leave it. It was good to meet Josh and ask him a question.”

Teacher, St Joseph’s Junior School, said: “It was a really good day. It got the children to reflect on bullying and what it means. It was great to see one of the Orient players too.”

This event was organised by Leyton Orient Trust as part of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme.
