The Interim Head Coach took over the day before the 2-0 defeat to Scunthorpe. Having had the week to prepare his squad, the O’s welcome Forest Green to East London tomorrow.
“The week has been very beneficial, it has given us the chance to give the boys a lift, try to get some energy back into them and put on some sessions that were going to excite them and bring back that edge we all know the group has got. It is a weeks worth of preparation for a big game.”
The Green come into the tie 2nd in the Sky Bet League Two table.
“The game is going to be tough, we know they’re going to dominate the ball so I expect there may be moments where it will be a frustrating home game as we might be the team that are out of possession at times.”
Embleton thinks previous performances against teams at the top will lift the confidence of his side heading into the game.
“They’re a good side and that’s the way they set up to play but I think we’ve been lifted by some of our positive performances against some of the teams at the top of the league this season.”
Crewe, Exeter, games like that where we felt we performed to a good level, albeit we didn’t get the three points that we wanted but the performances were to a good standard so we take a lot out of those games, particularly the way we can hurt teams and get the points that we all want.”
