Young O’s players, Jayden Sweeney and Arthur Janata, headed out on loan this week – here’s how they got on at their temporary clubs…

Left-back Sweeney joined U18’s captain Bradley McClenaghan on loan at Isthmian Premier Division side, Bishop’s Stortford and started as they took on Merstham on Saturday. The Blues went ahead through former-O’, and player/manager, Jamie Cureton on 21 minutes before conceding an equaliser just moments later. However, Jayden Sweeney popped up on debut to restore the lead just after the hour-mark. The hosts levelled again on 82 minutes but it was a full 90-minutes, and a goal, for the young defender. McClenaghan started on the bench but didn’t feature for his sixth appearance for the club.

Meanwhile, Arthur Janata linked up with O’s legend, John Mackie, at Potters Bar Town for their Isthmian Premier Division match against Bowers & Pitsea and was named as number 1 for the match. However, he was unable to prevent the Scholars from falling to a 0-2 defeat.

Finally this week, O’s forward Ruel Sotiriou returned from a successful month-long loan spell at National League side, Dover Athletic. The Cypriot scored three times in two appearances and helped Andy Hessenthaler’s side knock-out League One Southend United in the FA Cup.
