Last Time Out
Despite taking an early lead through Allison McCann, the O’s were knocked out of the F.A Cup at the second round stage by a clinical Portsmouth side from the division above.
In tough conditions at the PMC Stadium, McCann showed great composure to round the keeper and give her side the lead in the 7th minute.
However, that was as good as it got for Chris Brayford’s side as they conceded four goals in the first half, then two more in the second on their way to a 6-1 defeat.
Opposition View
Phoenix Sports ply their trade in the SECWFL Premier League. They currently sit 3rd in that division, having won four and lost one of their five games played so far.
Their most recent result saw them beat Lewes FC Foundation 3-0 on Sunday. Goals from Grace Laverick, Lia Skingley and Nikki-Precious Lopo ensured Phoenix defeated the side who sit immediately above them in the SECWFL Premier League.
Phoenix have played opposition from Orient’s division already this season, losing out 8-2 away at AFC Basildon in the F.A Cup.
Laverick and Skingley are their side’s joint top scorers this season, with eight goals each and they’ll be looking to add to their total against the O’s on Thursday night.
