access_time 2 months ago

LEYTON ORIENT’S TRAVEL TO WALES TO FACE NEWPORT COUNTY as the O’s LEAGUE TWO CAMPAIGN continues. Kick off is 03:00pm.

The O’s suffered defeat to Colchester United on Boxing Day, as a brace from Theo Robinson inspired the U’s to a 3-1 victory at the Breyer Group Stadium. Ruel Sotiriou bagged  Orient’s only goal of the game, scoring on his Football League debut.

Newport County come into the game struggling for form in the league, having not picked up a win in eight games, with their last victory coming against Scunthorpe in October.

Last time out the Exiles were beat 1-0 by Exeter; Lee Martin’s 14th minute strike was the difference.

Remembering Justin Edinburgh

Late Head Coach Justin Edinburgh will be remembered by his former Club Newport County, as the Exiles posthumously induct Edinburgh to their Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place at half time.

A WORD FROM ROSS EMBLETON:

“We’re getting into the thick of the Christmas action now. We were very disappointed after the way the game turned out at the weekend. I suppose the good thing is, certainly from a players perspective, once you get a game out of your system you’ve got another one coming very soon – so you give yourself every opportunity to put the wrongs, right.

We have got that opportunity and I fully expect us to go to Newport confident and to try and get some points.”
