The Caplins Do The 92

access_time 4 months ago

Beginning on Sunday 23rd February, Father and Son, Bob and Josh Caplin, together with Bob’s Son in Law, Stephen Goldman, will be embarking on the 92 in 92 football challenge – to visit all 92 football grounds from the Premier League to League Two in just 92 hours!

They are doing so in order to raise £9,200 to support Chai Cancer Care and North London Hospice to mark 10 years since Roz Caplin, lost her battle with cancer. She was Mum to Deborah, Naomi, Rachel, Josh and Abby and wife to Bob.

Chai Cancer Care provides comprehensive, professional and expert services to members of the Jewish community affected by cancer – patients, their families and friends.Monies raised from this challenge will go towards Chai’s Image Resource Service. This service provides a dedicated space where clients can address sensitive image issues and benefit from hair, wig, underwear, nail care and semi-permanent make-up expert advice. Clients can also receive make-up lessons and manicures as well as specialist advice regarding chemical-free beauty products and make-up.

North London Hospice provides high quality palliative and end of life care and support for patients and families living with a life limiting illness. Monies raised from this challenge will go to help support the crucial support that they provide to those in need.

Both Bob and Josh are lifelong O’s fans. Bob has been going to the O’s since the early 1950’s and recalls how he often used to sit on top of the dugout in the old main stand when he was a kid. His favourite memory was the 2-0 home win vs Bury in the 1961-62 season which clinched Orients promotion to the old Division 1 alongside Liverpool – how times have changed since then! His favourite O’s player was Stan Charlton. Bob is also a qualified Level 5 referee!

Josh has been an Orient fan for as long as he can remember. His favourite O’s player was Matt Lockwood and his favourite Orient memory was the 2-0 home playoff semi final win vs Hull City in the 2000/01 season when Lockwood scored that screamer from 30 yards out.

Stephen is actually a Sunderland fan – the less said about that, the better! He’s fully aware that it might not be long until they are League rivals with Orient.
