EMBLETON AHEAD OF TRANMERE CONTEST
Jackson joined Second Division Leyton Orient from the then Arsenal junior club Chase of Chertsey during October 1950, making his league debut for the O’s against Southend United on 30 December 1950 aged just seventeen and played down the right wing for the rest of that 1950-51 season.
At the start of the 1951-52 season, he was constantly watched by Liverpool scouts and in November 1951 they offered £7500 plus winger Don Woan.
For Liverpool, Jackson made 133 appearances over the next six-and-a-half years and scored 11 goals.
