O's Deliver Food To Haven House Hospice

To mark International Nurses Day, a selection of the Leyton Orient first team players and staff helped prepare, pack and deliver food to the children’s hospice Haven House.

Haven House are based in Woodford Green, provide care to life-limited children at absolutely no cost to them or their family – and support hundreds of families in times of need.

The O’s wanted to say a special thank you to the staff there, and so Head Coach Ross Embleton was joined by Danny Johnson and Josh Wright to prepare and page meals for all of the staff.

The food was cooked by the wonderful staff at Saffron Kitchen on Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, who have been at the heart of wonderful charitable operations since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It was great for us to do our bit today and put a smile on the faces of the staff at Haven House,” said Head Coach Ross Embleton.

“The work they do is so important to families in unimaginable situations, so to be able to say thank you to the staff on International Nurses Day with some food was the least we could do.”

“We’d also like to thank the staff at Saffron Kitchen and the Supporting Humanity Charity for having us along, and providing us with the food for all of the staff at Haven House.”

You can find out more about the work that both causes are doing locally on their websites – Haven House and Supporting Humanity.
