The O’s exited the First Round of the FA Youth Cup following a 3-2 defeat to Woking at Coles Park Stadium.
The O’s headed into the half-time interval with a two-goal lead, courtesy of Antony Papadopoulos’ header and weak-footed wonder strike from distance. However, the Cards’ converted twice in the second-half and eventually found a winner in extra-time.
Following the game, under-18s manager Brian Saah shared his disappointment about the result.
“It’s bitterly disappointing after being in such a dominant position and to end up losing that game – it’s massively disappointing.” said Saah.
“It’s a part of their learning curve.” Saah shared. “You do have to deal with the highs and lows and it’s just about how you bounce back from it. But overall, it’s a disappointing night.”
Although this is the end of the road for their journey in the FA Youth Cup, the young O’s will now switch their attentions to the EFL Youth Alliance, with Peterborough away being their next fixture.
