In our next EFL Youth Alliance fixture, the Leyton Orient under-18s welcome Luton Town to east London.
Following a minor break in EFL Youth action, Brian Saah’s side used this opportunity to take on Category Two-side Queens Park Rangers in an experimental friendly.
The majority of the under-18s squad managed to get some vital minutes in this 1-1 tie, where Daniel Nkrumah managed to find an equaliser in the 56th minute. Following the game, Saah shared his thoughts.
“We don’t really get the opportunity to experiment in our league games,” Saah reflected. “So, we wanted to take this opportunity to explore different formations and different personnel.”
Looking ahead to this weekend’s game, the O’s take on league-leaders Luton Town, who have actually failed to pick up a victory in their last two attempts. In their most recent outing, Luton suffered a 2-1 defeat to AFC Wimbledon.
Furthermore, in the away fixture, the O’s managed to earn an important 2-2 draw in October, as Nkrumah and Jaheim Whyte converted for Orient.
