The 22-year-old midfielder had signed a one-year loan with Blackpool back in September, but that deal has been cut short as he makes the switch to Orient.
Kemp is the first addition of the current window and Head Coach Ross Embleton is delighted to have got his man.
“I’m delighted. There’s been a couple of windows where we’ve looked to take him on loan but it hasn’t materialised. He’s a player we have been aware of a very long time. I’m over the moon to have secured someone of his quality.”
A West Ham academy lad, Dan scored a wonderful free-kick against the O’s in pre-season, but is now determined to get going with his new side.
“I’m delighted to be here. It is a great club. I can’t wait to get going. The manager is a massive part of me joining. His philosophy is exciting and his reputation of developing young players is something that attracted me.”
Our new signing is a diverse creative midfielder, who can play in a number of positions.
“I’m an exciting player,” said Kemp. “I love to get on the ball and makes things happen. I want to score goals and create chances but I’m also an honest player that works hard for the team.”
Kemp joined in with Friday morning’s training session, meeting his new teammates for the first time. He will take #15 shirt and will be in contention to face Morecambe on Saturday.
Our Head Coach was happy Kemp trained with his new teammates: “Getting Dan into the building gives him the opportunity to meet everyone and get used to what he does and where to go.”
