Ten-man Orient picked up an impressive point on Tuesday night against Crawley Town. Tom Nichols missed an early penalty and Hector Kyprianou’s 31st minute dismissal meant the O’s played a majority of the fixture a player short.
The U’s sit 18th in the table, six points behind Orient. Last time out Colchester lost 1-0 to Scunthorpe United; Alfie Beestin’s 5th minute goal the difference between the two sides.
Colchester are currently on a run of nine games without a win. Their last victory came against Scunthorpe, in early December.
Steve Ball’s side welcome back Frank Nouble, who joins on loan from Plymouth Argyle. Elsewhere in the January window, the U’s s have signed Ollie Kensdale, Josh Doherty and Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu.
