Leyton Orient v Cambridge United: Match Preview

access_time 3 weeks ago

Games haven’t come much bigger than this for The O’s this season – with top of the league in town, and a crucial three points up for grabs.

It’s Mark Bonner’s Cambridge United who visit as a different side from who they were last time, with The U’s having found the killer touch this season.

The U’s

Sitting top of the table, Cambridge United have been one of the surprise packages this season.

With four games left to go, automatic promotion is firmly in their own hands, and three wins would guarantee this.

They’re in good form, too, and whilst they sit second in the form table for the past six games, have been the best team on the road this season.

Key man Paul Mullin has 28 goals in 42 appearances this season, and looks well on course to claim the golden boot for Sky Bet League Two.

Whilst he is the obvious threat, the likes of experienced Wes Hoolahan pulling the strings and Joe Ironside firing 12 goals this league campaign, there are danger men all across the team.

THE OFFICIALS

Referee: Declan Bourne
Assistant Referees: Nicholas Cooper & Damith Bandara
Fourth Official: Andy Bennett

Bourne was The O’s official for the opening day win away at Oldham Athletic and has issued 84 yellow cards and two reds so far this season.

LAST CLASH

It was a tight affair on Boxing Day, as Danny Johnson’s opener was reversed by goals from Paul Mullin and Wes Hoolahan.
