Leyton Orient are one of 30 EFL Clubs to undertake the new EFL EDI Code of Practice.

The Code focuses on helping Clubs improve their Equality, diversity and Inclusion on and off the pitch – including having the right policies, procedures and practices in place ensuring that Clubs are welcoming and inclusive places.

The Club – in partnership with Leyton Orient Trust – has developed and submitted over 50 documents demonstrating what currently works and how this can be improved.

The Club has set up an Advisory Group overseeing the work and appointed Danny Macklin as the EDI Champion.

“The Club is very proud of its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work.”

Following submission, the Club will continue to work with the EFL and partners to continue to improve its processes.

Danny Macklin – EDI Champion said ‘The Club is very proud of its Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work. There is more to do, and the process set by the EFL has really focused our attention and ambition on how we can achieve this.”

“We now have in place robust processes which combined with our plans for engaging further with our local community will ensure that Leyton Orient continues to be a beacon in the long term.
