It’s a big one in East London, as Leyton Orient take on top of the league Forest Green Rovers at the Breyer Group Stadium on Tuesday (7:45pm).

The visitors…

Forest Green Rovers have been enjoying life under new head coach, Rob Edwards. The 38-year-old has won 50% of his games in charge of Rovers this season which currently has his side sitting top of the League Two table.

Edwards begun his coaching journey at Wolves, having been handed the opportunity by O’s manager Kenny Jackett – who was the manager at the Molineux at the time.

Following this, Edwards made the step up to manage AFC Telford Athletic, before later enjoying stints as Wolves U23 Manager, and England U16.

His appointment to Forest Green Rovers in the summer came somewhat out of the blue, but his start to the season has long silenced any doubters.

Rovers started the league campaign with four straight wins, coming against Sutton United, Walsall, Rochdale and Crawley before losing to Port Vale and being held to a draw against Exeter.

Forest Green then returned to winning ways picking up 10 points from their next four games when facing Northampton, Stevenage, Tranmere and Carlisle.

Swindon rocked the boat by picking up a win at the New Lawn, before Rovers bounced back with a win against bottom of the table Scunthorpe last time out.

Edwards has got his team playing attacking football which has resulted in Forest Green scoring 22 league goals so far this season.

Not only has Edwards got his team playing free flowing attacking football, he has also made Rovers defensively sound.

Forest Green have only conceded two goals in their last seven league games, and picked up six clean sheets.

Key player…

Jamille Matt has been the standout player so far this season, not just for Rovers, but the division as a whole.

The 31-year-old has scored a league high seven goals this season as well as a league high five assists, pushing Forest Green to the top of the table.

Matt scored a career high 16 league goals last season  and looks set to beat that tally this season. Matt has worked his way up the football ladder during his career.

He started at Kidderminster Harriers where he spent three seasons in the National League, where he scored 22 goals in 62 league appearances for the Harriers.

That earned him a move to League Two with Fleetwood Town. Matt struggled for game time and was loaned out to Stevenage and Plymouth before making the permanent move to Blackpool. He played 32 times for the Tangerines that season which saw them win the League Two play-off final at Wembley. He was then loaned to Grimsby before making a permanent move back to Newport County.

He enjoyed a terrific debut campaign scoring 14 goals in the league but his second season saw that tally cut down to six, which opened up his move to Forest Green Rovers.

His fine form earned him a new two-year deal, which came following his appointment as Club Captain.

The gaffer…

Kenny Jackett gave his thoughts after Saturday’s 0-0 stalemate with Walsall at the Breyer Group Stadium, and urged his side to use the Forest Green Rovers game to bounce back.

View from the opposition…

“They’re good at what they do and it’ll be difficult for us. I know Kenny and Joe well. Kenny is someone I have an awful lot of respect for. I learned a lot working with him.”

The Officials…

Referee: Christopher Pollard

Assistants: Nicholas Dunn and Stephen Finch
