The O’s will be looking forward to keep up an impressive home record, and push themselves back into the playoff picture.

THE U’S

Matt Gray’s side have been one of the surprise packages in League Two so far this season.

The U’s defied the odds last season to be promoted out of the National League for the first time in their history and haven’t showed any sign of slowing down this season.

Sutton didn’t show their quality in their opening four games as the U’s only picked up two points out of the possible twelve however, six wins in seven league games saw the Football League debutants shoot up the League Two table. On their impressive run they beat Stevenage, Hartlepool, Carlisle, Northampton, Port Vale and Crawley Town.

That run saw Gray’s side score 14 goals and keep four clean sheets. There was a turbulent end to October for Sutton as they won one of their next four games before returning to winning ways last weekend against Tranmere Rovers.

The U’s have also progressed to the Second Round of the FA Cup after defeating Hayes & Yeading and also finished top of their Papa John’s Trophy group with a 100% record.

KEY PLAYER

David Ajiboye has been one of the star figures for Sutton this season.

The 23-year-old winger has recorded three goals and two assists in the U’s opening 15 league games of the season. Ajiboye came through the ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion before leaving to join Worthing. In his debut season the winger scored 21 goals in 45 games for the Isthmian League side, which earnt him his move to the National League with Sutton United.

In a season disrupted with COVID-19, Ajiboye still managed to play 37 National League games and scored 4 goals in his debut season for The U’s. In Sutton’s title winning season the 23-year-old played 39 games to help his side clinch promotion to the Football League for the first time in their history.
